Message from the Pirate Club & Friends of ECU Baseball: (From 2006 Armada held on Friday February 24, 2006)For questions please contact Doug Groome (dgroome22@hotmail.com) OR Friends of ECU Baseball (friendsofecubaseball@yahoo.com).
Many of us will be leaving Charlotte early Friday morning February 24th to make the third game of the Keith LeClair tournament against Penn State (yes, skip work). We will join cars of other Pirates along the way and create the 2nd annual Pirate Armada to Greenville. Chapters from points North and South like Virginia, Wilmington, etc. can organize themselves to meet us at the Greenville Mall (JC Penny's). The Wayne County Chapter has stepped up again this year and will organize an Armada from the East. We do need lots of Greenville locals to show us how to tailgate and are COUNTING on a big showing from the Friends of ECU Baseball. Around 1:25-1:30, the Armada will travel over to the stadium with flags flying and horns blowing in one big caravan. We are working on getting VIP parking for our group. The 7th inning stretch will provide an opportunity to present our checks to the ALS Association and Lynn LeClair in honor of her husband Coach Keith LeClair and his courageous fight against ALS. What a great cause and the ECU Pirate Club gets a little publicity. We ask that each car give a minimum $20 (more if you like) donation to the local "Catfish" Hunter ALS Chapter on behalf of the Keith LeClair Classic. We will accept donations if you can't participate in the Armada, see the ALS booth. The attire is purple, flags, eyepatches and cannons.
