Charlotte Walk to Defeat ALS = SUCCESS

 A successful Walk to Defeat ALS entails good friends and family, glorious weather, mouth-watering food and outstanding entertainment. Check, check, check and check. The Charlotte Walk to Defeat ALS was a success.
Over 1900 people attended the Walk on April 25th. Besides being batted on the head by the balloon arch as people started the Walk, a good day was had by all. Many lucky winners took home prizes and raffle items. The biggest winners were our PALS throughout the state – corporate donors and walk participants raised over $200,000 to help fund our care services programs and nationally-driven research. Not bad for a Saturday morning!
 Special guest Mike Rucker was on hand to share his experience with ALS and his commitment to find a cure. Tim Miron was honored with the June Thompson Volunteer Recognition Award for his outstanding service to the ALS community and to our Chapter. Tim and his “never-say-no” attitude have been a blessing to our Chapter and we are excited that he is part of our team!
